Shakespearean Sonnet.
What a lovely shade of blue. The sun glints
Off the ocean that lies behind your lids.
Who I once believed to be smart now hints
A weakness that is uncertainty. Kids
Dream to be doctors, heroes, and much more,
But when reality sets in, we yearn
To be what we once dreamed. Our hearts lay sore
From the beating it has taken. We learned
That it hurts much less if we fill that hole
With something, anything that makes us feel
Significant. With God, you filled your soul
And found your place. But yet, is He still real
To the child who never believed? My friend
Still lies behind that beautiful ocean.
